keeping quiet

For once on the face of the earth,
let's not speak in any language;
let's stop for one second,
and not move our arms so much.

~ Keeping Quiet, Pablo Neruda
A reclined figure can be seen in the four feathers of Air. He is, indeed, keeping quiet. There is nothing wrong with having nothing to say right now. Sometimes, it's best to step back, step off, and let the whirling dervish of a moment spin off on its own. Shhhh! Quiet. Listen. Not to the words you could have said and, certainly, not to the words that have been said.

Listen to Nothing. Listen to the breeze in the trees or the ocean or rocks singing (if you listen deeply enough).

In time, the sounds of the Universe might be heard. And won't that be nicer than what could have been said?

So.

Chill-ax, as my Youths say. Stake out your space, build a blanket fort (don't forget the pillows and chocolate), and shut out the noise for awhile. Do not move your arms so much. Let them hold a quiet moment. Let them hold something soft. And breathe.
