Light, P.O.'d & Finished Socks

But first, a photo of this nifty lamp rescued from Rose. It's warm glow gives me the fuzzies something awful each time I flip the switch, gracing my studio work table. She bought it years ago at Pier One (a favorite store of mine), the sister lamp to this bit the dust and she was tired of dealing with cleaning it, so I took it home. I love the cagey-ness and the little door. The mala beads make me happy as well. And I don't care if I get 'round to cleaning it so often.

And now stuff from the Post Office! I love stuff in the mail! Ruth sent me these:

No, not feet holding a tea bowl. Hand-knit (by her) Yoga Socks and and and a whole honkin' pound of Chai Tea from Frontier Herbs. Way Happy Early Birthday to me! The socks are cool and the tea is wicked.

Also arrived, my biddy doll from the Flame Sisters Dolly exchange. I love the gold coins that were included. A dolly from a couple of years ago is peeking over her shoulder. The new dolly (and the old) will reside on my Artist's Altar in the studio reminding me to stay grounded and be creative.

Finally, the Waterfall socks are done. They are delicious on the tootsies.

chickens removed

Now I like a chicken or two hanging out in the downstairs bathroom as much as the next redneck, however, things had gotten to critical mass when I moved Victor the bantam rooster in with Henny Penny for company. Despite the snow, I decided today was the day to move them to the shed. After I got Penny and Vic into the cage they were ignoring, I went out with Dirk and cleaned the part of the shed the pair would be housed in for the rest of the winter. Penny's leg (sans foot) seems to be healed enough to be outside and Victor can keep her company during the day ~ something I'm sure he'll appreciate being a little guy in deep snow.

Thankfully, I'd covered most of the floor with leftover rubber tiles. Having housed recuperating chickens in this room before, I was savvy to floor protection. Thus clean-up was a breeze, but I'll spare the details.

The only reason I'm posting this is because, really, I wanted to do something else instead . . . SoulCollage and then Absolutely Nothing. After a shower, I will indeed head off to these two endeavors.

Inner Child Went A-Wanderin'

I appear to be in a SoulCollage frenzy. After taking care of business and practicing much-needed asanas (to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, of course), I set to play in the sunroom and came up with these:

This one wants to be titled Green Athena.

Fishing is the title this image asked for.

And from way out in left field, American Gothica.

So glad the day wasn't a total waste. I Am the One Who . . . statements are pending. Film at 11:00.

moodling about

But first ~ a Daily 3-Cards & the Truth reading:
The deck is Haindl. Interpretations, I leave to you, good reader. I'm feeling vague ~ which is the exact opposite of, "feeling vivid," as uttered by Officer Paul Harmon (Richard Jenkins) on LSD in Flirting With Disaster.
Yesterday, I was feeling vivid and did these two SoulCollage cards. These are an experiment of sorts. While I like using illustration board to build SoulCollages on, I wanted to see what would happen if I used card stock ~ the stuff usually used in desktop printers. I use rubber cement which doesn't compromise either the images or the stock. The next trial will be how the completed images and card stock stand up to the clear acrylic spray I use to protect the cards.
This first image is titled Read My Lips. I Am the One Who . . . statement yet to be developed.

This fellow here is the Hierophant, which is my Major Arcana of the Year based on Mary K. Greer's Tarot for Yourself. Again, I Am statement pending.

Here, at last, is a test run of the Me & My Guy Dance lighted heart. Better to try it lit a couple hours here at home to avoid burning down a church parish during a dance. I have other reasons to visit Hell. "Church parish burning" is not something I want on the List.
I've decided not to put any words in the middle.

The lighted swirls say it all.

Imbolc quickies

One Waterfall sock has been completed. Thank you, Wendy. I'm lovin' the toe-up!

The other has been cast on and we're k1-m1-ing while waiting at a doctor's appointment. Not for me. I'm merely accompanying someone.

The heart is red. The heart will get some smatterings of gold and then cut paper letters as the words "Me & My Guy Dance" will be savagely removed once the Girl Scout function is done. Then the lit-up heart will hang at the corner of our property to delight and annoy the denizen of my neighborhood.

A Blessed Imbolc to All. May Brighid's Flame continue to burn.
